Kiyary is an ARTIST, PAINTER, illustrator AND STORYTELLER.

Kiyary is a mestiza contemporary artist, illustrator, and oil painter based in Spain, known for her vibrant, impressionist paintings. With a rich heritage spanning from native Peruvian, Spanish, and English roots, she was born in Peru, raised in the United States, and now resides in Spain. Her artwork, characterised by magical realism, captures the beauty and romanticism of human interactions with nature.

Her journey in art began with studies in Architectural Design and Sculpture at Athens Drive Magnet School in Raleigh, North Carolina. She continued her education in Graphic Design and 3D Animation at the Peruvian Institute of Art & Design in Lima, Peru, before pursuing Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, where she focused on landscape painting—a medium she uses to evoke nature in her pieces as a tribute to the natural world. Kiyary also refined her skills in Illustration at the Oviedo School of Art. Kiyary is continually enhancing her practice through various courses and workshops that concentrate on oil painting, with a particular emphasis on portraiture and landscape.

Kiyary's deep passion for learning, painting, and movement has shaped her unique artistic perspective. Her constant shifts in environment have inspired a profound reflection on the importance of identity and humanity's relationship with nature. This connection is vividly expressed in her colorful landscapes and expressive portraits, where she brings to life the delicate moments that define our bond with the natural world.

Throughout her career, Kiyary has exhibited her work across Spain, both individually and collectively, focusing on her love for the natural world, plus social issues such as immigration and human rights. Additionally to her exhibitions, she has worked on various projects as an illustrator and painter and has shared her expertise as an art teacher, specialising in Painting and Drawing.

When not in her studio, Kiyary is often found pleinair painting alla prima, capturing life as it unfolds around her. Whether in the serene mountains or the lively atmosphere of city cafes, she seeks to bring the world to life through her art.

The diversity of cultures and environments I have been exposed to, inherited from my ancestors and shaped by my upbringing, has led me to deeply reflect on the importance of identity and our relationship with Nature.
My work is both an exploration of our connection to the natural world and an intimate reflection on the human emotions that often remain hidden—those that define our vulnerability and humanity.
Through my art, I seek to raise awareness about social issues such as immigration, human rights, and the ecological crisis, while celebrating the beauty of life and those small moments that we so often overlook. My work explores the universal emotions that make us human, with the hope that it inspires in the viewer a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems that surround us and, even more, awakens an innate desire to protect and care for the world we live in.
