This project started as a personal challenge to bring illustration into the Art Gallery world in Asturias. I was fortunate enough to get in contact with Arancha Osoro, head of the Arancha Osoro Gallery who found my proposal interesting and decided to bet on as for this exhibition.
The exhibition Illustrated Habitats offers a visual journey into the microcosm of each artist, where we can appreciate their creative process, and the worlds that each of the artists imagines. From abstract landscapes to unique characters, where the real world meets the fantastic, the show brings with it a wide variety of styles and formats, as well as the use of different media, such as oils, watercolors, digital art, mixed media, and more.
The show wanted to emphasize the value of the artist's manual labor and the importance of individuality in the creation of art. In a world where artificial intelligence is increasingly prevalent in the art world, "Illustrated Habitats" sought to make the viewers reflect on the power and beauty of the human imagination and the unique perspective each artist brings to their work. The participating artists were: Cinthya Alvarez, Kiyary Do, Enrique Fernandez, Esther Gomez, Maria Guija, Raquel Lagartos, Bruno Martínez and Ruben Megido. Este proyecto nació como un reto personal para acercar la ilustración al mundo de las galerías de arte en Asturias. Tuve la suerte de contactar con Arancha Osoro, dueña de la Galería Arancha Osoro quien encontró interesante mi propuesta y decidió apostar por esta exposición.
La exposición Hábitats Illustrados ofrece un viaje visual al microcosmos de cada artista, donde podemos apreciar su proceso creativo y los mundos que cada uno de los artistas imagina. Desde paisajes abstractos hasta personajes únicos, donde el mundo real se encuentra con lo fantástico, la muestra trae consigo una amplia variedad de estilos y formatos, así como el uso de diferentes medios, como óleos, acuarelas, arte digital, técnicas mixtas y más.
La muestra quiso enfatizar el valor del trabajo manual del artista y la importancia de la individualidad en la creación de arte. En un mundo donde la inteligencia artificial prevalece cada vez más en el mundo del arte, "Illustrated Habitats" buscó hacer que los espectadores reflexionaran sobre el poder y la belleza de la imaginación humana y la perspectiva única que cada artista aporta a su trabajo. Los artistas participantes fueron: Cinthya Álvarez, Kiyary Do, Enrique Fernández, Esther Gómez, María Guija, Raquel Lagartos, Bruno Martínez y Rubén Megido.
